During the conversation, the U.S. Secretary of State commended Azerbaijan’s fuel shipments to Armenia, describing the move as an important confidence-building gesture.

Washington said the deliveries demonstrate Baku’s continued commitment to the historic peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, advanced during the White House summit on August 8, 2025.

The two officials also discussed additional measures aimed at further promoting peace, stability, and prosperity across the South Caucasus, and highlighted positive momentum in U.S.–Azerbaijan relations.

The call comes amid broader diplomatic efforts to consolidate the peace process and normalize relations in the region following years of tensions.
