SOCAR Gas Stations Damaged by Russian diversionary units

Two gas stations operated by SOCAR Energy Ukraine, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company, sustained serious damage following a series of explosions near the village of Berezina in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region.

The affected gas stations are located on both sides of the Kyiv–Zhytomyr highway, approximately one kilometer from the village.

Local residents say the blasts — which struck a furniture factory and other nearby facilities — occurred without warning sirens, adding to suspicions that the attack may have been the result of sabotage by Russian diversionary units.

Preliminary reports indicate that no casualties were reported at the gas stations, though full assessments are still underway. The incident comes amid continued Russian aggression and rising concerns over the safety of critical infrastructure in Ukraine, including foreign-owned assets.
