Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Aleksandr Kurenkov has arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan to participate in a high-level meeting of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO).
According to the Ministry’s press service, Kurenkov is attending sessions of the Executive Council and the General Assembly of the ICDO, which brings together emergency response services from more than 60 countries.
“The central issue on the agenda is the election of a new Secretary-General for the organization, which serves as a key global platform for humanitarian assistance and emergency coordination,” the statement read.

In addition to the summit, the Russian official is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other nations on the sidelines of the event.
