The United States has stepped up pressure on Iran by presenting a set of five core demands, as Washington and Israel intensify military consultations and prepare for potential escalation in the Middle East.
According to regional and Israeli media reports, the demands include the handover of approximately 400 kilograms of enriched uranium, the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program, the termination of its ballistic missile development, the suspension of all missile-related activities, and an end to support for proxy forces in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon.
Israeli officials argue that Tehran is unwilling to engage seriously with these demands, either collectively or individually, and is instead seeking to prolong the process through diplomatic delay tactics. From Israel’s perspective, the current phase represents a critical turning point that could reshape the regional balance of power.
At the same time, Washington is reinforcing air and missile defense systems across the Middle East, including Patriot and THAAD deployments, to protect U.S. forces and regional allies from potential Iranian retaliation. U.S. officials acknowledge that tens of thousands of American troops stationed at multiple bases remain within range of Iranian strike capabilities.
Despite the military buildup, diplomatic channels have not been fully closed. Iranian and U.S. sources indicate that indirect talks may take place in the coming days, though expectations for a comprehensive agreement remain low. Some analysts suggest a limited de-escalation or non-aggression understanding may be more realistic than a full deal.
The coming decisions in Washington, Tehran, and Jerusalem are widely seen as decisive. They could either steer the region toward cautious stabilization or push it into a new and unpredictable phase of confrontation.
