In the first quarter of this year, 60 cases of hacker interventions were recorded, targeting websites operating in the “.az” domain zone.
According to a monitoring report by CYBER ON, the analysis of the incidents revealed the main causes of cyberattacks.
The research showed that 42% of cyber intrusions occurred due to improper secure coding, while 58% were linked to incorrect server configuration.
A detailed analysis revealed that 18 attacks were targeted directly at the servers, and 13 cases were related to code-level interventions. In the remaining 29 cases, the source and method of the attack could not be determined.
Particularly concerning is the fact that 6 web resources were subjected to repeated attacks due to unresolved vulnerabilities.
It was noted that 58% of cyberattacks were caused by improper server configurations and a lack of secure segmentation between resources. In this regard, companies using shared hosting services are advised to remain especially vigilant and regularly check the security settings of their resources.
