PARIS, August 18, 2025 — French authorities have agreed to hand over two Azerbaijani children who had been temporarily held in France, in line with a German court ruling on custody.

According to Azerbaijan’s Embassy in France, the minors — Deniz Abdullayev and Araz Abdullayev, children of Azerbaijani citizens Mahammad Guliyev and Gultaj Abdullayeva — were returned on August 18 to Germany under the supervision of a delegation from Berlin.

The children, who were born in Germany, had previously been placed under state custody by a German court. Their eventual return to their parents will depend on further legal proceedings within the German judicial system.
