BAKU, July 18, 2025 — Azerbaijan has reiterated its support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid the latest escalation between Israel and Syria.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aykhan Hajizade made the statement in response to questions from local media, emphasizing Baku’s consistent stance on preserving Syria’s unity.
“We reaffirm our support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, indivisibility, and political unity of Syria. Achieving peace, security, and stability in this country is of utmost importance,” Hajizade said.
The remarks come as regional tensions flare following a series of Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territory, prompting renewed international concern about the risk of broader conflict. Azerbaijan’s statement signals its alignment with calls for a diplomatic and peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis.
