Azerbaijan to Join Trump’s “Peace Council” as Founding Member

Azerbaijan has agreed to become a founding member of the proposed international organization known as the “Peace Council,” following an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Azerbaijan.US, the decision was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

Trump announced on January 16 his intention to establish a new international organization called the “Peace Council” and formally invited Azerbaijan to participate as a founding state.

“Azerbaijan, having accepted this invitation, has informed the American side of its intention to become a founding member of the ‘Peace Council,’” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that an official letter confirming Azerbaijan’s membership will be sent to the U.S. side in the coming period, and all required procedural steps will be carried out accordingly.

“Azerbaijan, as always, stands ready to actively contribute to international cooperation, peace, and stability,” the statement noted.

No further details about the structure, mandate, or membership framework of the proposed Peace Council have been made public at this stage.
