Azerbaijan is finalizing the creation of a national supercomputing infrastructure, a major step toward advancing the country’s digital economy, according to Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.
Speaking at a forum in Baku focused on the “Industry of the Future,” Jabbarov said the supercomputing system will enable faster and more accurate economic forecasting, enhance simulation capabilities in decision-making processes, and allow for evidence-based analytical approaches in policymaking.
“This infrastructure is one of the key technological pillars supporting Azerbaijan’s digital transformation,” Jabbarov noted.
He also announced the development of a Digital Economy Strategy, designed to provide a systematic and sustainable framework for technological advancement.
“The strategy aims to transform the economy through closer synergy between business, government, and society, while aligning with global tech trends and the country’s development priorities,” he said.
The supercomputing project is expected to support not only government planning but also private sector innovation, research, and education — positioning Azerbaijan as a regional hub for high-performance computing and digital services.
