Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas on the occasion of Palestine’s national holiday.
In his message, Aliyev extended warm greetings on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan.
He noted that Azerbaijan and Palestine are connected by “bonds of friendship and brotherhood,” reaffirming Baku’s long-standing support for a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with relevant UN resolutions.
Aliyev expressed hope that the outcomes of the Middle East Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh would help advance peace, stability, and security across the region.
The president also stressed that Azerbaijan will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestine and underscored Baku’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
“I am confident that the friendly relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Palestine, built on good traditions, will continue to develop successfully,” Aliyev wrote, wishing Abbas good health and the Palestinian people peace and well-being.
