President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has addressed the country’s youth on the occasion of February 2 – Youth Day of Azerbaijan, highlighting the central role of young people in the nation’s development and future progress.
In his message, the head of state congratulated young citizens on the national holiday and wished them good health, high morale, and success in their future endeavors. He recalled that Youth Day traces its origins to the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who launched the first nationwide youth forum 30 years ago, creating an open platform for dialogue with young people.
President Aliyev noted that the consistent organization of such forums reflects the importance of youth policy within Azerbaijan’s broader social agenda. According to him, state programs implemented over recent decades have created favorable conditions for the personal development of young people, increased their civic engagement, and strengthened their role in state-building.
The president emphasized that a new generation has emerged in Azerbaijan-one that remains deeply committed to national and moral values while keeping pace with global trends. He said that young people today contribute to strengthening the country’s capacity across all sectors, from the economy and science to culture and public life.
Special attention was given to the role of youth during the 44-day Patriotic War, when, as President Aliyev stated, young Azerbaijanis demonstrated exceptional courage and determination. He stressed that the majority of those who secured the country’s victory and restored territorial integrity were members of the younger generation, making this chapter a lasting symbol of patriotism and resilience.
Concluding his address, President Aliyev expressed confidence that Azerbaijan’s youth will continue to play a decisive role in the country’s new phase of development, contributing innovative ideas, creative energy, and a strong sense of responsibility to the nation’s future.
