Construction on the Azerbaijani segment of the Zangezur Corridor, stretching to the Azerbaijan–Armenia border, is approaching its final phase, Presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev announced on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
“Works on the section of the Zangezur Corridor up to the Azerbaijan–Armenia border have reached their final stage. Azerbaijan is doing its hard work on the ground to establish regional transport and logistics connectivity,” Hajiyev wrote.
The corridor, a key regional infrastructure project, is expected to connect mainland Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan through southern Armenian territory, creating a major transport and logistics link between the Caspian and Mediterranean regions.
Hajiyev emphasized that Baku continues to invest in infrastructure that supports broader regional connectivity, positioning Azerbaijan as a transport hub for the South Caucasus and beyond.
Once completed, the corridor is expected to boost trade routes across the South Caucasus, enhance access between Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Central Asia, and reinforce the country’s strategic role in transcontinental transit networks.
