Delivery times for freight from China to Europe through the Middle Corridor could be reduced from 18 to 14 days, according to Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu in an interview with Milliyet.
He stated that this efficiency will be achieved once the Kars-Iğdır-Aralık-Dilucu railway line, a key segment of the Zangezur Corridor, becomes operational.
“Through the Suez Canal, the journey takes more than 35 days, and via the Cape of Good Hope, over 45 days. With the planned Development Road project, which combines sea and rail transport, delivery takes 25 days,” Uraloğlu noted.

The minister emphasized that the Zangezur Corridor will create significant opportunities for regional transport and logistics.
“This corridor will strengthen regional peace and economic cooperation between Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. We are the only gateway for Armenia to connect with the West,” he added.
