Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Turkey’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumaklı held talks in Istanbul focused on expanding cooperation, including new economic, logistical and trade opportunities linked to the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project.
According to Armenian media cited by Report, both sides stressed the importance of maintaining regular contacts between Yerevan and Ankara and reaffirmed their readiness to continue dialogue.
The statement noted that the discussion included the possible restoration of the Kars–Gyumri railway connection, a route that has remained closed for decades, as well as the broader economic potential that TRIPP could unlock for both countries.
Papoyan and Yumaklı also reviewed market diversification strategies, new logistics corridors, and opportunities to expand mutual economic interests, signaling growing engagement between the two neighbors amid shifting regional dynamics.
