Yahoo’s search-engine market share in Azerbaijan dropped sharply last month, according to new data from Statcounter.
As reported by Report, Google remained the dominant search engine across all platforms – desktop, mobile, and tablet – with a 79.38% market share in November.
However, that figure is 2.54 percentage points lower than in October and 4.8 points lower than the same period last year.
Yandex, which holds second place in the country, continued to strengthen its position. Its market share increased by 2.71 percentage points month-over-month and by 4.31 points year-over-year, reaching 18.34%.
Bing ranked third with a 1.5% share – a marginal increase of 0.01 points compared with October and 0.53 points year-on-year.
DuckDuckGo held fourth place with 0.4%, slipping 0.08 points over the month but still slightly above last year’s level.
Yahoo closed out the top five with 0.31% of the market. Its share fell 0.12 points both month-on-month and year-on-year – a combined 28% decline in November alone, marking one of its steepest drops in the Azerbaijani market in recent years.
