A reception was held in Washington, D.C., to mark World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the upcoming New Year.
According to Report’s U.S. bureau, the event was organized with the participation of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States and brought together diplomats from Turkic-speaking countries, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani and other Turkic communities.
The event opened with the performance of the State Anthem of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the reception, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United States Khazar Ibrahim said it was no coincidence that the celebration in Washington was held with broad participation from the Turkic world. He noted that Azerbaijan holds the chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States this year and recalled that President Ilham Aliyev has identified cooperation within the organization as one of the key priorities of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy.

OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev expressed his pleasure at attending the event dedicated to World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day. He also highlighted that December 15 was observed this year for the first time as World Turkic Languages Day, underscoring its importance for the preservation and promotion of Turkic culture.
The evening concluded with performances of national musical compositions from Azerbaijan and other Turkic countries by singer Tereza Elizarova. Guests were also treated to traditional Azerbaijani cuisine.
