Prosecutors said that around 23:00, Gasimov climbed over the fence of the neighboring property, entered the house, approached the sleeping woman, kissed her on the forehead, and grabbed her by the shoulders in an attempt to wake her. The woman fought him off with a broom.

A criminal case was opened under Article 157.1 of the Criminal Code (unlawful entry into a residence against the will of the occupants).

Gasimov told the court he had been intoxicated and claimed he entered the house “to help carry a heavy object.” He later admitted guilt and expressed remorse.

The victim strongly disputed his version:

“He burst into my home in the middle of the night. I later learned he entered from the garden, not through the gate. He kissed me on the forehead, grabbed my shoulders, and squeezed my throat to stop me from screaming. When I hit him with a broom, he let go – so I struck him in the face with a frying pan.”

She told the court she had not forgiven him.

A witness testified that Gasimov is married with three children. During the incident, the woman screamed outside, and nearby children were reportedly crying in fear.

The Gusar District Court sentenced Gasimov to 480 hours of community service and placed him under electronic monitoring.
