Water Supply Issues Reported in Baku Amid Scorching Heat

BAKU, July 17 — Residents of several Baku districts are facing temporary water supply issues due to low pressure.

According to the Unified Water Supply Service for Large Cities, the issue is under investigation by the local water utility department. Specialists are reportedly working to identify the cause and implement necessary measures to restore normal pressure.

Officials have assured that water service will be fully restored soon.

However, the disruption comes at a time when temperatures in Baku are nearing 40 degrees Celsius, raising concerns among residents who are forced to endure the summer heat without reliable access to water.

Critics argue that repeated supply issues during peak heatwaves point to deeper infrastructure and planning shortcomings. “It is unacceptable that in a modern capital city, families are left without water when it’s 39 or 40 degrees outside,” said one local resident. “We need lasting solutions, not just emergency fixes.”

While authorities continue to promise swift restoration, residents say recurring water problems during extreme weather highlight the urgent need for long-term investment in the city’s water infrastructure.
