Azerbaijan’s Qarabag claimed a dramatic 3-2 home victory over Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt in Matchday 7 of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
The match was played at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium, where the hosts sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal.
Qarabag opened the scoring early, with forward Camilo Duran finding the net in the 4th minute. Eintracht responded quickly as Can Uzun leveled the score six minutes later. After the break, the German side went ahead in the 78th minute when Fares Chaibi converted a penalty.
The closing minutes, however, belonged to the hosts. Duran scored again in the 80th minute to complete his brace, before defender Bahlul Mustafazade struck in added time to secure all three points for Qarabag.
With the result, the team coached by Gurban Gurbanov moved to 10 points after seven matches in the group stage.
Qarabag will conclude their Champions League campaign on January 29 with an away match against England’s Liverpool.
