Azerbaijan’s Qarabağ FK secured a 1–0 away victory over North Macedonia’s Shkëndija in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
The match, played at the Todor Proeski National Arena in Skopje, was decided in the 18th minute when Toral Bayramov converted a penalty awarded after a foul on Leandro Andrade.
The return leg will take place on August 12 at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium in Baku, kicking off at 20:00 local time. The winner on aggregate will advance to the playoff round to face the victor of the tie between Bulgaria’s Ludogorets and Hungary’s Ferencváros.
