WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States has issued a pointed warning to Russia and Iran against any attempt to obstruct the newly agreed Zangezur Corridor, a transit route secured under the peace framework between Azerbaijan and Armenia brokered by President Trump at the White House.
Speaking at a State Department briefing, spokesperson Tammy Bruce told reporters, “I’m not here to speculate on what we can or cannot do in response. But the whole world knows that President Trump must be taken seriously. This agreement matters to him.”
Bruce highlighted that previous peace initiatives—including those led by the European Union and France, as well as Russia and the Biden administration—failed to produce lasting results. “Only President Trump achieved this breakthrough,” she said.
The accord establishes the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), which will connect mainland Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave via southern Armenia. Under the deal, the United States has secured exclusive development rights to operate and maintain the corridor for 99 years, with operations conducted under Armenian law.
According to Bruce, the economic agreements signed alongside the peace declaration will unlock “significant potential in trade, energy, infrastructure, and technology, creating substantial opportunities for U.S. companies in the region.”
