WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States is optimistic about the rapid conclusion of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said during a joint session with President Donald Trump at the White House.
“I hope a peace deal will be reached soon,” Rubio stated, expressing support for diplomatic efforts to end the long-standing conflict in the South Caucasus.
In his remarks, Rubio also referenced other global developments, including the resolution of tensions between India and Pakistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, and ongoing concerns surrounding Iran’s nuclear program.
His comments come amid renewed international calls for stability in the region and growing expectations that a peace accord could be finalized in the near future.
