U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday congratulated Armenia on its 34th Independence Day, calling the country a “valued partner” and underscoring Washington’s backing for peace, prosperity, and stability in the South Caucasus.

In a statement, Rubio cited President Trump’s “landmark summit” between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the U.S. pledge of $145 million to help Yerevan implement the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).

The assistance is framed as support for Armenia’s energy security, expanded trade, and stronger border security, while reaffirming U.S. backing for Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Rubio said the Strategic Partnership and bilateral memoranda signed by President Trump and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are “cornerstones” for advancing shared goals, including regional connectivity, economic investment, and security cooperation.

“As Armenia continues to forge its future as a crossroads of peace and growth,” the statement added, the United States remains committed to a “more connected, stable, and prosperous region.”
