A senior American diplomat has highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing importance in regional energy connectivity, calling future corridors linking Syria to Türkiye and Türkiye to Azerbaijan “highly beneficial.”
According to Report, U.S. Ambassador to Ankara Tom Barrack noted that recently signed agreements between Türkiye and the United States on liquefied natural gas (LNG) have further increased the strategic value of regional energy routes.
Barrack emphasized that the LNG partnership elevates the importance of creating reliable east–west and south–north energy corridors, with Azerbaijan serving as a key supplier and transit actor.
Commenting on regional diplomacy, the ambassador also expressed hope that progress toward an Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agreement would eventually lead to the opening of the Türkiye-Armenia border, strengthening stability and economic integration across the South Caucasus.
