Sofia, August 31, 2025 – Azerbaijani judokas concluded their campaign at the World Junior Judo Championships in Sofia with two bronze medals in the individual events.
According to Report, on the final day of competition two Azerbaijani athletes exited in the early rounds: Masuma Mammadli (70 kg) fell in the round of 32, while Subkhan Akhundov (+90 kg) was eliminated in the round of 16.
Earlier in the tournament, Azerbaijan’s Anar Guliyev (50 kg) and Zeyd Aleskerov (60 kg) both captured bronze, securing the country’s only podium finishes.

In total, 15 Azerbaijani judokas competed in the championship. With the conclusion of the individual contests today, attention now turns to the mixed team events scheduled for August 31.
