A total of 2,152 twins and 78 triplets were born in Azerbaijan during the first eight months of 2025, according to the State Statistics Committee.
Between January and August, the country registered 63,698 newborns, a decline in the birth rate from 10.0 to 9.3 per 1,000 people compared with the same period last year.
Among newborns, boys accounted for 53.1% and girls for 46.9%, the committee reported.
