Ankara, August 8 – Türkiye has welcomed the progress achieved on the path to a lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the political will demonstrated during the trilateral agreements reached in Washington by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“This step, taken at a time of heightened international conflicts and crises, is an extremely important development for ensuring regional peace and stability. We greatly value the contribution of the U.S. administration to this process.
A historic opportunity has emerged to bring peace and prosperity to the South Caucasus. Türkiye will continue to contribute to efforts to realize this opportunity and will support Azerbaijan’s dedicated efforts,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on X.
