Turkey’s national carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) will begin operating round-trip flights between Istanbul and Yerevan starting March 11, 2026.

The announcement was made by Serdar Kılıç, Turkey’s special envoy for Armenian-Turkish relations, who described the move as another step toward the normalization of ties between the two countries.

According to Kılıç, Turkish Airlines will initially operate daily flights, totaling seven flights per week. The frequency will increase to 10 flights per week on May 14, and further to 14 flights per week on June 14.

At present, air travel between Istanbul and Yerevan is served by Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines.

Unlike Pegasus, which operates flights from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, Turkish Airlines will conduct its services from Istanbul Airport, the city’s main international hub.
