U.S. President Donald Trump said it was “a great honor” to assist in settling the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia, posting his remarks on Truth Social Monday afternoon.

“It is a great honor to help settle the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and at the same time to become friends with these two great leaders and peoples, President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan,” Trump wrote.
“This will be an eternal friendship for me, but more importantly, for the United States of America!”
The president accompanied his message with a photo taken at the White House on August 8, where he hosted both leaders for peace talks.
