Azerbaijani athletes have captured five medals at the World Traditional Karate Championships held in Tokyo, the Azerbaijan Karate Federation reported.
Seven athletes represented Azerbaijan at the event. Among cadets under 15, Ayhan Shabanzade secured third place. In the youth category, Salman Salmanov claimed gold in kata.
In the adult division, Imran Guluzade won silver in the 74-kg weight class, while Mehman Eynalov took bronze in the +75-kg category.

The Azerbaijani men’s team – composed of Fuad Aliyev, Elbrus Abdullayev, Imran Guluzade, and Mehman Eynalov – also earned a bronze medal in the team kumite event.
