The U.S. Embassy in Baku is proud to highlight the work of Jemma Russo, an accomplished Azerbaijani-American fashion designer whose elegant, modern couture has appeared on runways from Miami to Paris – and most recently at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Azerbaijan.
Russo describes her trademark aesthetic as “clean lines, powerful femininity, and timeless elegance.” Though she has lived in the United States for more than 30 years, she says her creativity is deeply rooted in both cultures:
“I always carry my Azerbaijani roots with me. My designs are a blend of both worlds.”
Returning to Baku Fashion Week was especially meaningful for the designer:
“It’s emotional… like bringing my journey back to where it all began.”
U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Amy Carlon attended the event wearing a stunning Jemma Russo gown — celebrating the work of a talented Azerbaijani-American creator and showcasing U.S. excellence and diversity in fashion.
