Azerbaijan’s average monthly salary is set to continue rising steadily over the next five years, according to new projections from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the research and analysis division of The Economist Group.
The EIU estimates the country’s average monthly wage will reach 1,054 manats this year – a 6 percent increase from 2024.
Growth is expected to moderate slightly in the years ahead, with salaries forecast at 1,108 manats in 2026, 1,157 manats in 2027, 1,204 manats in 2028, and 1,265 manats in 2029, APA reports.
Annual increases are projected at 5.2 percent in 2026, 4.5 percent in 2027, and around 4.5 percent through 2028–2029.
By comparison, official government figures place the average monthly salary at 1,009 manats last year. The draft state budget projects a higher trajectory than the EIU: 1,170 manats in 2026, 1,246 in 2027, 1,327 in 2028, and 1,412 in 2029.
The divergence highlights how independent forecasters remain more cautious than government projections, but both agree on one point: salaries in Azerbaijan are set to rise steadily toward the end of the decade.
