Tbilisi Stresses Daily High-Level Political Dialogue With Baku

Azerbaijan is a key partner for Georgia, and close bilateral ties require constant high-level political dialogue, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili said on Thursday.

Speaking to journalists in Turkmenistan, Bochorishvili commented on the recent meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

“We have a very important bilateral agenda with this country, and it is essential that issues related to political and economic relations between our two states are discussed at the highest level,” she said. “Azerbaijan is an important partner for Georgia, and these close relations also require daily political dialogue at the top level.”

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Ministers Ali Asadov and Irakli Kobakhidze met in Ashgabat, where both sides expressed satisfaction with the development of the Azerbaijani-Georgian strategic partnership. The talks covered cooperation in trade and the economy, investment, transport and transit, oil and gas, as well as humanitarian affairs.

Particular attention was paid to current issues of mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
