Syrian and Israeli Officials Reportedly Hold Secret Talks in Baku

Must read

Baku, July 13 – A rare and unconfirmed meeting between Syrian and Israeli officials took place in Baku, according to a diplomatic source cited by AFP.

The source, speaking from Damascus, said the closed-door talks focused on “Israel’s new military presence on Syrian territory,” but did not elaborate on the nature or extent of this deployment.

Neither government has publicly acknowledged the meeting. If confirmed, the talks would mark a highly unusual instance of direct contact between two countries that remain officially at war and have no diplomatic relations.

Azerbaijan, which maintains strategic ties with both Israel and maintains a cautious relationship with Arab states, has not commented on the reported meeting.
