State Border Service Prevents Hundreds of Illegal Exits in October

In October, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan (SBS) prevented 511 citizens with existing travel restrictions from leaving the country, according to data released by the agency and reported by Report.

During the same period, 757 individuals were detained for violating border regime rules, with legal measures applied against them.

As part of joint operations against crime, authorities identified and handed over 329 wanted persons to the relevant law enforcement agencies.

Additionally, 48 foreign nationals who had been previously banned from entry were denied access to Azerbaijan at the border.

The SBS also reported that 21 individuals were detained for illegal border crossings, including:

  • 5 citizens of Azerbaijan,

  • 3 from Algeria,

  • 3 from Pakistan,

  • 2 each from Afghanistan, Morocco, and Ukraine,

  • and 1 citizen each of Iran, Turkey, Senegal, and Syria.

The data highlight Azerbaijan’s continued efforts to strengthen border security and prevent unlawful crossings, ensuring tighter control over both entry and exit procedures.
