The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will hold a major technology competition, SOCAR Hackathon 2025, on December 13–14 at the Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS).
According to SOCAR, the event aims to generate new technological solutions in artificial intelligence and data engineering, aligned with the company’s expanding innovation agenda. The hackathon also seeks to encourage young specialists to work on creative, practical tools that can be applied across the energy sector.
The competition will run in two tracks:
AI Engineering – reconstruction of handwritten data delivered via email
Data Engineering – recovery of seismic datasets
Teams of up to three participants may apply.
During the pre-selection phase, organizers will evaluate each team’s motivation letter, CV, and technical skills. Shortlisted teams will then receive access to real SOCAR datasets and work for 48 hours to produce functional prototype solutions.
Prize Fund (per track)
1st place: 4,000 AZN
2nd place: 2,000 AZN
3rd place: 1,000 AZN
