Qarabag head coach Gurban Gurbanov says his team is preparing for one of the toughest challenges of the season as they face Italian giants Napoli in Matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League main stage.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Gurbanov stressed that Qarabag will go up against a rival with a deep football tradition and a coach whose name carries weight across Europe.
“Antonio Conte is an outstanding specialist,” Gurbanov said. “The team we will face has enormous experience. This match is extremely important for us. Napoli will try to improve their position in the group, and they are preparing for the game with full seriousness.”
Gurbanov emphasized that Qarabag also approaches the match with full concentration:
“We want to show dynamic football. I have never seen Antonio Conte approach a match without maximum attention. I know him very well. We have prepared well and want to keep our discipline until the final whistle.”
The coach highlighted Qarabag’s long-term mission:
“Our goal has always been development – year by year. Since we’ve reached this stage, we want to enjoy our game, our courage, our fight. Playing with responsibility brings results. Looking at our recent performances, we feel both joy and confidence.”
Gurbanov added that the team must remain sharp and fearless:
