Azerbaijan’s Qarabağ FK secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round after a 1-0 home win against Ireland’s Shelbourne.
The only goal of the match, played at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium, came in the 44th minute as an own goal by John Martin. Qarabağ missed a chance to double the lead when Kady Borges failed to convert a penalty in the 68th minute.
Having already won the first leg 3-0 in Dublin, Qarabağ advances with an aggregate score of 4-0.
They will now face the winner of the Shkëndija (North Macedonia) vs. FCSB (Romania) tie in the next round under the leadership of coach Gurban Gurbanov.
