Food prices in Azerbaijan continued to climb in September, driven by higher costs for meat, fish, dairy products, and vegetables, according to new data from the State Statistics Committee.
Beef, lamb, fish, eggs, sour cream, cottage cheese, butter, pears, peaches, walnuts, hazelnuts, cabbage, greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, beans, beets, radishes, garlic, potatoes, and both black and green tea recorded noticeable increases.
Prices dropped slightly for lemons, bananas, apples, grapes, and onions.
The consumer price index for non-food goods stood at 100.5% compared to August and 102.6% year-on-year for January–September. Furniture, car parts, personal care products, stationery, and jewelry saw modest increases, while summer clothing prices declined.
Paid services also became more expensive, with notable increases in education fees, language courses, apartment rentals, and barber services. Meanwhile, prices for international air travel fell slightly.
Officials said no major changes were observed in other categories.
