BAKU, August 4, 2025 — More than 56 million manats have been invested in economic recovery and business development across the cities of Khankendi, Khojaly, and the Aghdara district, according to Elchin Yusubov, the Azerbaijani President’s special representative in the region.
Speaking to Report, Yusubov highlighted tangible progress in revitalizing the local economy and creating employment opportunities in areas recently liberated from occupation.
“In total, 506 facilities have been leased out to entrepreneurs — 374 in Khankendi, 35 in Aghdara, and 97 in Khojaly. Most of these are already operational,” he said.
“So far, investments have exceeded 56 million manats, with over 2,000 jobs created. Once all leased facilities become fully operational, that number is expected to surpass 5,000.”
Yusubov emphasized that government-backed incentives and preferential mechanisms have played a pivotal role in driving economic activity in the region.
