Azerbaijan’s State Examination Center (SEC) conducted nationwide university entrance exams on Sunday for applicants to specialty groups I and IV, as well as geography for candidates in group III (subgroups DT and TC).
According to the SEC, the exams were held simultaneously across 144 buildings and 2,537 classrooms in 25 cities and districts, including Baku, Nakhchivan, Sumgayit, Ganja, and Lankaran. A total of 34,229 students were registered for the exam.
To ensure smooth and secure operations, the SEC deployed:
144 chief coordinators
396 exam supervisors
3,177 invigilators
460 security personnel
144 facility representatives
An operational headquarters was established at the SEC to oversee the entire process. Exams started at 10:00 a.m. sharp, and late arrivals after the 09:45 security cut-off were not permitted entry.
Strict Protocols and Violations
Despite strict guidelines, six examinees were disqualified after being found in possession of mobile phones—a direct violation of exam rules. The SEC reiterated that any candidates caught breaching regulations will have their scores nullified and will be barred from applying to universities or vocational colleges this year.
What’s Next
From July 14, the SEC will begin processing exam materials. As the test includes open-ended questions, which require manual review, results are expected to be released within two weeks.
Documentation Requirements
Participants were required to present:
An official exam admission slip
A valid ID (national ID card, migration permit, or refugee certificate)
For minors or those without a photo ID, a school-issued certificate with a stamped photograph
Authorities say all testing conditions were in full compliance with national standards, ensuring students had a fair opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge.
