Baku, July 14, 2025 — Azerbaijan deported 1,007 foreign nationals in the first six months of 2025 for violating the country’s migration laws, according to a statement from the State Migration Service (SMS). The individuals were also banned from re-entering the country for a period defined by law.
Other violators were granted the option to legalize their stay or to voluntarily leave the country, the agency added.
In the same period, authorities uncovered 11 cases of unauthorized migration schemes. These included attempts to bring foreign nationals into Azerbaijan for various purposes, transit to third countries, and the illegal issuance of work and residence permits after entry.
All evidence collected in these cases has been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for legal review.
