The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) has expressed strong support for the initialing of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
In a statement posted on the Assembly’s official account on X, OSCE PA President Pere Joan Pons Sampietro, Special Representative for the South Caucasus Luís Graça, and Secretary General Roberto Montella welcomed the signing of the joint declaration in Washington, calling it “a historic breakthrough on the path to lasting peace in the South Caucasus.”
The leaders underscored that the agreement marks a critical step toward stability and reconciliation in a region long affected by conflict.
