Baku, August 10 – As of August 1, Azerbaijan had a total of 1,637,784 registered taxpayers, according to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy. Of these, 86.9 percent were individuals, while 13.1 percent were legal entities and other organizations.
Compared to the same period last year, the overall number of taxpayers rose by 4.8 percent. The number of individual taxpayers increased by 4.4 percent, and legal entities by 7.4 percent.
The number of registered commercial entities grew by 8.1 percent year-on-year, reaching 198,371. Between January and July 2025, 8,196 commercial organizations were officially registered, 88.5 percent with local investment and 11.5 percent with foreign investment.
Among registered commercial legal entities, limited liability companies (LLCs) made up 91.8 percent, joint-stock companies 1.1 percent, and cooperatives and others 1.1 percent.
Electronic registration remains the dominant method, accounting for 84.6 percent of all commercial entity registrations. For LLCs with local investment, the share of electronic registration was even higher, at 96.1 percent.
