BAKU, August 15 — Azerbaijan has welcomed the launch of a new football club, “Zangazur,” which will compete in the upcoming season of the Regional League, Sport1.az reports.
Founded and presided over by Shahin Mammadov, the team represents Western Azerbaijan and will play in the Capital and North Zone of the league. Home matches will be held in Baku, with the main goal of securing promotion to the Second League by winning the championship.
The club’s initial budget exceeds 100,000 manats and will receive backing from the Western Azerbaijan Community.
