Astrakhan, August 22 — Russia and Azerbaijan have outlined new priorities for economic partnership, focusing on energy cooperation, industrial projects, and enhanced regional connectivity, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said at the 23rd meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Astrakhan.
Overchuk noted that the agenda includes strengthening transport links, building an independent financial architecture for mutual settlements, expanding collaboration in shipbuilding and agriculture, and developing joint projects in the Caspian Sea.
He emphasized that Moscow and Baku agreed to facilitate the launch of cruise routes on the Caspian, opening tourist access to ports across littoral states via passenger vessels sailing under the Russian flag. “We see strong prospects for cruise tourism in the Caspian region,” he added.
