The Middle Corridor is set to develop faster than any other transport route in Central Asia over the next five years, according to Hayotjon Ibragimov, head of the Center for Energy Diplomacy and Geopolitics at Uzbekistan’s Institute for Advanced International Studies.
Speaking to reporters, Ibragimov said the Trans-Caspian route has become one of the most relevant logistical projects in the region, with active cargo flows already moving along the corridor.
.
“The Middle Corridor is extremely relevant today, and we already have functioning logistics along this route,” he said. “I believe that in the next five years its development will surpass that of all other transport routes.”
He noted that Central Asia – and Uzbekistan in particular – has emerged as a key hub between China and India, while Azerbaijan serves as a strategic gateway linking Central Asia with Europe.
According to the analyst, the Middle Corridor’s expansion will benefit both exporting countries and transit states, strengthening connectivity, trade, and regional cooperation.
