Baku — A resident of Gabala district, now living in Baku, has found himself in a bizarre situation: officially, he is listed as working as a gardener, even though he has never held the job.
According to Xazar TV, Farhad Bayramov said that despite being unemployed, government records show him as employed with a monthly salary of 150 manats (about $88).
The problem has created real obstacles for Bayramov, who says employers refuse to hire him because the system already lists him as “working.” He claims he has repeatedly appealed to authorities to fix the error, but without success.
Legal experts note that such cases are more serious than bureaucratic mishaps. If a company has fraudulently registered someone as an employee, citizens must first report it to law enforcement. Only after a court decision confirming the fraud can the false records be corrected and further measures taken.
The case highlights broader concerns over data accuracy, misuse of personal information, and potential fraud within employment and tax reporting systems in Azerbaijan.
