Leyla Aliyeva, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, and Arzu Aliyeva took part in the opening of the exhibition “Treasures Behind the Doors of Anatolia” in New York on September 22.
The event, hosted at the Turkish House, was launched at the initiative of Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan. The exhibition showcases artworks and handicrafts from ancient civilizations, aiming to promote Anatolian culture and encourage intercultural dialogue.

Speaking at the opening, Emine Erdoğan said the project highlights the deep historical roots of Anatolian culture and demonstrates why its millennia-old traditions and skills remain relevant today. She also underlined the principle of “Zero Waste” as a guiding theme – not only in modern Anatolia but also embedded in its historical practices.

The exhibition is structured around three main themes: “Fertility of the Land,” “Culinary Heritage,” and “Skill of the Hand,” reflecting the cultural and material richness of the Anatolian region.
