American singer Jennifer Lopez was in talks about a potential performance in Russia but decided against it due to concerns about facing criticism from the West, as reported by the Telegram channel Mash.
According to the report, Lopez’s representatives and Russian organizers had almost reached an agreement – a date was set for August, and a fee of at least $1 million was agreed upon.
“Her team went off to think and returned with a refusal. They said, ‘While there’s a conflict in the country, Lopez faces too many reputational risks,'” the post states.
Mash reports that Lopez is willing to perform in Russia once the conflict in Ukraine is over.
The negotiations were reportedly handled by the concert agency PMI, but its director, Evgeny Finkelshtein, neither confirmed nor denied this information in a conversation with Mash.
